Coronavirus

Update 9/1/2022:

After two and half years in the hibernation mode with the pandemic, we are finally going back to in person storytime at the Brighton Memorial Library. Please continue support our storytime by checking our event schedule or check our Brighton Library event calendar.

Update 12/30/2021:

Thanks for everyone's support for ChildROC to keep going with the online bilingual storytime. The past two years of 2020 and 2021 have not been easy for everyone, and the pandemic is still with us. Just like you do, we very much look forward to bringing our bilingual storytime and events to in-person in 2022.

In the meantime, in celebration of the Chinese New Year which falls on February 1st, 2022, ChildROC has invited local young musicians and volunteers to present a two-session concert series, coming up in January 2022. Stay tuned!

Update 5/1/2021:

Summer is coming soon and more people are getting vaccinated! As more people are feeling safer for small gatherings and less cases are reported, we are experimenting holding small events going forth. For example, our volunteers just presented at the Strong Museum of Play on May 1 to celebrate the Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, which went very well. Everyone was following the Strong's guideline for covid protection.

We look forward to holding more in person events in the coming months. In the meantime, our signature bilingual storytime will still be held online at least throughout the summer.

Updates 1/1/2021:

Happy New Year! We have lined up volunteers for the online bilingual storytime in Spring 2021. Check out event page for latest storytime schedule.

We look forward to serving the Rochester community with another series of high quality bilingual storytime!

If you have any questions or feedback, please contact us!

Updates 9/5/2020:

We have proudly resumed bilingual storytime to keep serving the community , and it will be in the format of online recorded storytime. We miss the in-person interaction as much as you do, and apologize for the inconvenience this has brought to everyone.

Please keep supporting us so that we can keep organizing events for the Rochester community.

Dear Families and Friends of ChildROC,

Thank you visiting ChildROC.org to check out our status!

We are sorry that all events have been cancelled for at least February 2020, and further cancellation in March or beyond will be reassessed towards the end of February. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have brought you, and promise that we will come back as soon as things become clearer!

We believe that everyone has heard of coronavirus (2019-nCoV) by now, and we are taking precaution to protect all of us, either volunteers or participants to our events - most having young children, by reducing public gathering at this time when the development of this new virus is still uncertain.

For latest development of coronavirus, please visit Center for Disease Control (CDC) website:

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/summary.html

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index-Chinese.html

On January 30, 2020, the World Healthy Organization (WHO) declared the ourbreak of coronavirus "public health emergency of international concern" (PHEIC), and as of the time of writing, most international flights between US and China have been cancelled to stop further spread of this new virus. Rest assured, there have not been reported cases of coronavirus in Monroe County as of now.

Although the 2019-CoV coronavirus outbreak started in China and rapidly spread to other countries in short period of time, we encourage you to closely follow CDC updates of the development. This is not just a virus for China, this is a virus for all human beings.

We wish you all a healthy and happy 2020, and thank you very much for your support of ChildROC in the past two years.

Sincerely,

Michelle @ ChildROC
